FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Lamar, Colorado, November 17, 2025) Thanksgiving Week brings a variation to the City’s standard operations, with many offices closed on Thursday AND Friday, 11/27 and 11/28. Additional modifications include:

Free Transfer Station & Landfill Weekend – November’s free dump weekend is scheduled for Saturday, 11/22, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm and Sunday, 11/23, from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm.

Building Closures - The City of Lamar offices, City Complex, City Clerk's office, Public Works office, Lamar Animal Shelter, and the Community Resource and Senior Center will be closed on Thursday, 11/27, and Friday, 11/28, in observance of Thanksgiving. The Lamar Community Building will be closed on Thursday, 11/27 and Friday, 11/28, and will reopen for normal hours on Saturday, 11/29. The Lamar Public Library will be closed on Thursday, 11/27, through Sunday, 11/30. All other City offices will reopen on Monday, 12/1, for regular hours.

Residential Trash Pick-up -

• Thursday trash pick-up route will be collected on Wednesday, 11/26
  • (includes Willow Valley & Parkview area)
• Friday trash pick-up route will remain the same
• Please have containers in place the night before or before 6:00 am.

Commercial Trash Pick-up -

• Wednesday trash pick-up route will be collected on Tuesday, 11/25
• Thursday trash pick-up route will be collected on Wednesday, 11/26
• Friday trash pick-up route will remain the same
• Please have containers in place the night before or before 6:00 am.

Cardboard Route -

• Wednesday route will be collected on Tuesday, 11/25
• Friday route will be collected on Wednesday, 11/26

Landfill -

• Closed on Thanksgiving, 11/27
• Closed Friday, 11/28, and open on Saturday, 11/29, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
