Lamar Fire & Emergency provides fire protection, emergency medical transport, rescue and hazardous materials response to the residents and visitors of Lamar, Colorado. Our ambulances serve the western two-thirds of Prowers County for a response area of 1,240 square miles responding to approximately 1,000 medical calls and 150 fire calls annually. Staff consists of both career and volunteer firefighters as well as full and part-time emergency medical providers who are committed to providing highly competent and professional service to our community.

The mission of the Lamar Fire and Emergency Services is to minimize the loss of life and property resulting from fire, medical emergencies and other disasters, both natural and man-made.  We will accomplish our mission through prevention, emergency preparedness, education, suppression, emergency medical and trauma services and other related emergency and non-emergency activities.  We will actively participate in our community, serve as role models and strive to effectively and efficiently utilize all the resources at our command to provide a service deemed excellent by our citizens.
