Temporary Office Clerk

THIS IS A TEMPORARY FULL-TIME POSITION (MINIMUM 6 MONTHS UP TO ONE YEAR OR LESS) - PAYING $17.15 PER HOUR. THIS POSITION DOES NOT OFFER BENEFITS.

PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: This position serves as the first point of contact for customers and plays an important role in providing excellent customer service, processing requests, maintaining records, and supporting daily office operations.
This temporary position is expected to assist with immediate operational needs; however, depending on organizational needs, funding, and employee performance, there may be an opportunity for consideration for future permanent employment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
The following duties are representative of the position and are not intended to be all-inclusive.
Customer Service
- Answer incoming telephone calls professionally and courteously.
- Assist customers by answering questions, receiving service requests, and directing inquiries to appropriate staff.
- Welcome visitors and provide assistance at the front counter.
- Maintain a positive and professional customer service experience.
Administrative Support
- Create and process work orders using Tyler Technologies software.
- Create purchase orders and assist with routine administrative documentation.
- Enter data accurately into computer systems.
- Scan, copy, file, and organize documents.
- Maintain electronic and paper records.
- Monitor and clear daily office logs and pending customer requests.
- Assist with correspondence, reports, and general office support.
Office Operations
- Operate standard office equipment including computers, printers, scanners, copiers, and multi-line telephone systems.
- Assist staff with scheduling, document preparation, and other administrative tasks.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer and City information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Regulatory and compliance reporting

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Position requires limited movement and for the most part is a sedentary position which involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time; duties are usually performed in surroundings where undesirable physical conditions and hazards are minor and controllable with the proper safety equipment to prevent injury. Work Environment: Work is primarily in a professional office environment with frequent interaction with the public. This position requires regular use of computers, telephones, printers, scanners and other office equipment. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and carry 25 pounds and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
- Must be able to see in low or bright lights and distinguish between colors.
- Must be able to hear clearly, speak clearly and write clearly.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret written material and reports.
- Ability to perform math skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Constant usage of fingers and both hands.
- Works involves sitting or standing 60% of the time and walking and standing while performing various tasks 20% of the time.
- Occasionally stoops, kneels, crouches, bends, climbs, including reaching overhead.
SUPERVISION – RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERS: None.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid Colorado Driver’s license.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or equivalent.
· Previous office, administrative, customer service, or clerical experience preferred.
· Municipal government or utility office experience is desirable but not required.
