Fish Die-Off at North Gateway Park

The City of Lamar, in collaboration with Colorado Parks and Wildlife, is notifying the public of a recent fish die-off in Pond #2 at North Gateway Park, 1402 Valco Road in Lamar.

The affected fish are trout, which are particularly sensitive to changes in water temperature and oxygen levels. Trout can tolerate temperatures in the mid-80s for only short periods and require well-oxygenated water to survive at temperatures above 68°F.
