FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

May 20, 2025 – In observance of Memorial Day, most City of Lamar offices will be closed on Monday, 5/26. Additional details include:

Building Closures – The City of Lamar offices, City Complex, City Clerk's office, Community Building, Senior Center, and Public Library will be closed on Monday, 5/26 in observance of Memorial Day. All City offices will reopen on Tuesday, 5/27.

Landfill – The City of Lamar Municipal Landfill will be CLOSED on Monday, 5/26 and Reopen Tuesday, 5/27 from 8:30am To 3:30 pm.

Residential Trash Pick-up -

• Residential refuse collection normally scheduled for Monday, 5/26 will be picked up on Tuesday, 5/27.
• Residential refuse collection normally scheduled for Tuesday, 5/27 will be picked up on Wednesday, 5/28.

Commercial Trash Pick-up –

• Commercial refuse collection normally scheduled for Monday, 5/26 will be collected on Tuesday, 5/27.
• Cardboard collection for Monday, 5/26 will be collected on Tuesday, 5/27.

Police, Dispatch, Fire & Ambulance Services will maintain regular hours. For non-emergency needs call Prowers County Dispatch at 719-336-3977.

NOTICE:  May’s Free Dump Weekend is Saturday, 5/31 from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm and Sunday, 6/1 from 12:30 to 3:30 pm. 1 load limit per day at transfer station. All other loads must go to the landfill. Find more details regarding this monthly event at https://ci.lamar.co.us/free-dump-weekends.
