FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

(Lamar, Colorado, August 22, 2025) In observance of Labor Day, most City of Lamar offices will be closed on Monday, 9/1. Additional details include:

Building Closures – The City of Lamar offices, City Complex, City Clerk's office, Community Building, Public Works office, Lamar Animal Shelter and the Community Resource and Senior Center will be closed on Monday, 9/1, in observance of Labor Day. The Lamar Public Library will be closed on Saturday, 8/30, and Monday, 9/1. All City offices will reopen on Tuesday, 9/2 for regular hours.

Landfill – The City of Lamar Municipal Landfill will be closed on Monday, 9/1, and will reopen on Tuesday, 9/2, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

Residential Trash Pick-up -

• Residential refuse collection for Monday, 9/1, will remain the same. Please have containers in place the night before or before 6:00 am.

Commercial Trash Pick-up -

• Commercial refuse collection for Monday, 9/1, will remain the same. Please have containers in place the night before or before 6:00 am.

Cardboard Route -

• Cardboard collection for Monday, 9/1, will be collected on Tuesday, 9/2.

Police, Dispatch, Fire & Ambulance Services will maintain regular hours. For non-emergency needs, call Prowers County Dispatch at 719-336-3977.

NOTICE:  August’s Free Dump Weekend is Saturday, 8/30, from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm and Sunday, 8/31, from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm. 1 load limit per day at transfer station.
