January 2026 Edition
Looking Ahead to 2026!
Hello from the City of Lamar! As we ring in the new year, we’re welcoming fresh beginnings and renewed energy. With 2026 just ahead, we’re excited to build on what we’ve learned and explore what’s possible.

Save-the-Date
- Join the City Council members and City staff for Common Grounds on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at 7:00 AM in the Cultural Events Center. Common Grounds is a welcoming space to ask questions, hear community updates, and gain insight into what different city departments are working on. Start your morning with conversation, coffee, and donuts. We look forward to seeing you there!

The next Common Grounds will be on January 7th, 2026 and will feature the Lamar Police Department and affiliated divisions.

Reminder
The City of Lamar Water Department reminds residents to keep both hot and cold indoor faucets dripping during periods of extreme cold (20°F and below) to help prevent water lines from freezing and potentially bursting. Residents are also asked to ensure that water meter pits remain accessible and that meter pit lids stay securely in place to provide added insulation and allow for quick access in case of emergencies. If you have any questions, please contact Public Works at 719-336-2002 during regular business hours.
