Full-time Engineer – Fire Department (Non-Exempt) – Under general supervision, responds to alarm and other emergency calls to protect life and property; drives and operates fire equipment and apparatus; participates in fire prevention programs including inspections, station maintenance, and training activities; operates and carries out Emergency Medical Technician duties; leads volunteers. Work varies requiring individual judgment within prescribed standards and procedures.
Qualifications: Shall be certified as an Emergency Medical Technician Intermediate, by the State of Colorado, or EMT-Basic with IV certification and is willing to obtain EMT-Intermediate certification. Applicants must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license. Applicants shall be certified as a Fire Fighter 1 under the Colorado Division of Fire Safety or become certified within two years. Hazardous Materials Operations or Technician level certifications preferred.
Preferred Qualifications: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, one year of experience as a Firefighter or as a volunteer and knowledgeable in all aspects of general fire-fighting tactics, and operations of all fire apparatus and equipment.
