Job Opening: Full-time AP/Payroll Maintenance Clerk

Job Location:  City Complex

Employment Type:  Full-time

This position is responsible for performing accounting functions related to accounts payable, purchasing, payroll services, and financial record-keeping. 

Duties include:  Processing purchase orders, accounts payable, and payroll maintenance; maintaining fixed assets and inventory records; handling vendor setup and payment inquiries; preparing financial reports and reconciliations; assisting with bid processes and office supply management. 

Qualifications:  Associate’s degree in an accounting-related field (or willingness to obtain within two years); two years of experience in basic accounting, bookkeeping or payroll preferred; strong knowledge of municipal finance practices and office procedures; ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate excellent organizational skills. 

This is a non-exempt hourly position and will report to the City Treasurer.  The full job description is attached.   This position is a pay grade 150 and the starting rate of pay is $22.36/hour.
