Electric Apprentice Lineman (Lamar Light and Power)

Lamar Light and Power is looking for individuals to join our team.

Position:  Electric Apprentice Lineman

  • Compensation: $20.00 - $27.00 hourly D.O.E., paid Bi-weekly
  • Hours: Monday-Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. Overtime as needed
  • Benefit package include: Health Insurance, Vacation, Sick, and Retirement Benefits.

Minimum Requirements:  Any combination of training and experience equivalent to graduation of High School, including courses or knowledge in shop mechanics and electricity and one year of experience in an electric utility as a Groundman is preferred, but not required.  Possession of a valid Colorado CDL or ability to acquire a CDL. Pre-employment drug testing is required

Physical requirements:  Must have the ability to perform moderate/heavy physical work, be able to lift and carry 50 pounds regularly and occasionally over 100 pounds.  Will perform work mainly outdoors and often in inclement weather conditions and temperature extremes.

Duties and Responsibilities:  Under supervision, performs semi-skilled work in assisting Lineman First or Second Class, and the Transmission and Distribution Department Supervisor in the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical distribution and transmission lines and systems, both overhead and underground, as a part of a formal training or apprenticeship program.
